He was born on April 10, 1986 at Medamulana and was elected to Parliament at the General Election 2010 to represent the Hambantota district.
The all night pirith sermon organized in respect of parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksha was held at Tangalla Carlton House. A birthday cake made in the shape of a rugger ball was cut by Namal at the short celebration where the father and mother participated.
